| In the early 1990s Fred, a key employee
of the prior owners, purchased the existing pre-
cast operation and named it Utility Precast. From
that point on, he focused intently on improving the
overall operation. No detail was too small to
attend to. He improved sales, modernized the
plant, added a maintenance shop, built new office
space, upgraded the yard and delivery
equipment, and recruited new staff – one of
whom was his son, Greg Bates.

| Utility Precast provides various products for the electrical, gas and telephone utilities.With this well-established list of
customers, Fred and son Greg felt it was time to move to the next level through product diversification. They choose Easi-
Set’s building program as one which not only expanded their product offering to their existing utility customers, but it also
opened up totally new markets and new customers. As Fred looks forward to moving toward semi-retirement, he is passing
the baton to Greg who will become responsible for growing the business further and ensuring the success of the building
program at Utility. |
